I got one and i have used mine for a month now here are some points. 1 The gps is a hit or miss, some have reported to it working and some not, for me it doesnt work and yes i have enabled it in the settings, this is critical since some of my banking apps require gps services to work, perhaps they will fix it in the future. 2 The sharp edges are annoying and after i have seen some teardowns of the phone, the sharp edges are completely unnecessary, im thinking of actually 3dprinting a new shell myself. 3 the vibration motor is absolute ass and makes annoying sounds when used so even having it on for using the keyboard is not nice at all. 4 the EQ in the audio app is kinda buggy atm and turns itself off from time to time, i also wished it only applied itself when playing music so it excluded the in-call sound and ringtones etc. 5 wireless charging would be nice. 6 the battery could have been bigger, as the phones feel really thin in the hand and since it allready has a big "camera" bump i wished they tried to tone down that bump a little and then made the entire phone the same thickness while using the extra space for battery and wireless charging. 7 the output power of the 4.4mm is absolutely insanely high on a phone and its awesome since even with a pair of highly demanding iem's you will have a lot of headroom even for eq. 8 both the audio jacks are sturdy and all cables seat deep in there and dont feel like they will fall out (yes this is a problem of some phones, looking at you lg v-series). With the prise to take into consideration i think the phone is a somewhat good deal and even more now that both lg and asus rog stopped either making phones or removed their good amp/dac the single only phone on the market that fits as a good "audiophile" phone is the moondrop one. If the points i mentioned were to be changed or addressed in a moondrop miad02 then id recommend that one more, and for them to increase the prise about 20% for better quality id still think it would be a good deal.

This is actually way more interesting than eg the Nothing (1) from my old friend Carl Pei (from his OnePlus days many moons ago!). Yes, the Phone 1 was awesome design, decent battery life and mid range CPU, but it was a terrible choice for music as the USB C authorisation for various dongle DACs (large, small, low price, high price dongles) kept failing for me for the entire 6 months I owned it. Plus, ZERO SRC bypass support

Moondrop MIAD Mine is arriving Monday. Yay! As an avid owner of 2x LG G6 (both bought in Seoul from SK Telecom with the HiFi Quad DAC years ago, literally) and 3x LG G7 (including the higher storage version, in magenta, brand new, received yesterday), I totally get the concept of Phone + good DAC + 3.5mm output). They all perform admirably and at a level much higher than eg the FiiO KA1, HiBy FC1 or 3). This new MIAD 01 takes that to the next level with balanced output 4.4mm as well as 3.5mm, plus a great screen for the price and fairly decent performance from the Mediatek U7050 CPU (inc. 5G support), 12Gb RAM, 256Gb storage. On top of that a battery that's almost 2x the size of my 3 LG G7. I do think this device deserves to be successful. As a mobile tech reviewer, stage and studio musician / producer over 25 years, and sometimes pro audio (not consumer) tester and reviewer - this is a device that builds on the best the LG G7 can provide (except for flagship, at the time, SD845 chip) and smokes it with 4.4mm balanced output and better battery life. As I said at the beginning, my MIAD is arriving in the next 10 hours and my thoughts might change. But as a concept, I do hope Moondrop has a big success here that will hopefully spawn other brands to take the idea forward just as Microsoft did with the OG Gen1 Surface. It's also worth pointing out that both the screen tech (120Hz AMOLED at 6.7") and the CPU beat any DAP on the market including any A&K DAP with terrible screen, questionable battery, poor storage performance and a terrible 5 years old SD 660 or 665 CPU midrange chip that is blown out of the water by the 7050 in the MIAD (plus 12Gb of very fast RAM)... ... what I'm saying is that on any reasonable technical measure (beyond internal shielding, Op Amps etc) the MIAD makes a USD3,000+ A&K DAP mostly redundant, plus you only need to carry 1 device.
